Author Topic: DC40 Brush Bar Not Working. How can I test the brush bar motor?  (Read 6919 times)

I have 2 x DC40s both with brush bar motor not working :(
What can I do to work out what's wrong, as I dont want to spend out on new motors if they are not really needed.

If u put a meter over the the contacts you should get a reading there is a cable in the ball that is very common to go

As Tim says above... voltmeter on dc, look for 320vdc on the connector in the pics in the post, if volts there then replace head motor.
If no volts there in the down vaccing position then prob yoke cable broken o/c.
