Dc07 Cyclone - Small Repair
« on: June 20, 2019, 11:04:40 PM »
Hi

Brilliant forum - tons of inormation thanks.  In removing the cyclone handle to clean it, I damaged one of the screw fixings.  Please see photo.

Will superglue fix this? I am not sure if it will be strong enough and might break again when I tighten the Torx Screw.  Any thoughts please?

superglue it back in place but ensure it is 100% clean where the glue joint is.
clean it with some light solvent first isopropyl etc, you can also bolster it after with a little araldite or similar epoxy.

When refitting the torx screw, heat it gently with a cigarette lighter first (not red hot !) but just enough for the screw to worm into the plastic softly, as it cools it will lock fine
The only way to fail is not to try.

We put one slightly longer screw in if that happens.

I've glued them back on before. Annoying when it happens isn't it!
