DC39 Motor Question
« on: July 20, 2019, 12:19:44 pm »
Thanks so much for the images & instructions. My DC39 was making a loud screeching noise. Stripped right down to the motor. The motor & housing (and the outer filter housing) all have quite a lot of very fine grey dust over them.
I have taken a look at the bushes and both appear fine. The motor seems to turn OK by hand.
Would you think that the dust indicates a motor about to expire?
If so, Im presuming I need to clean the everything down to remove the dust before installing the new motor?

Many thanks for any help.

Have you bench tested the old motor?

Hi, thanks for replying. By bench test, do you mean power up now it's free of it's housing?

If so, the answer is .... yes.... just did it.

Same very loud noise and lots of sparks! From reading previous posts I'm assuming it's about to be kaput?

D'you think i'll need a new housing/filter thing for it too?

Many thanks for your help.

The motor is duff indeed.

You'll need the post motor filter as well as the motor.
