Is there a big difference in cleaning power between 700W and 1300W motors?
Would it basically be better to get a new 700W machine or second hand 1300W?

Are you still referring to the Felix here?

Yes

As I recall, the wattage refers to the total wattage of the machine. As a Felix has two motors, and the brush head motor is perhaps 175w, the remainder will be the main motor.

With Sebos generally, the difference between 1100w and 1300w wasn't a thing. The motors were the same. They simply reported the wattages differently under different conditions to align with EU diktat. 1300w was max and 1100w was nominal or some such. In reality, there wasn't a difference between 1100w and 1300w machines.

So with the Felix, the earlier 44186EK motor was I think 890w as later reported, and the 175w head motor brought it up to 1065w so it was under 1100w.

Which is better? On the Felix, I really don't see a difference in use. I've used pre and post 2017 on the shop floor and I cant tell the difference.

I couldn't say no to this for £100.

This is literally 5th Felix I bought. Don't know why I keep coming back to it. Just like it despite it being quite heavy.

The suction doesn't seem very good tbh. The speed control was a bit stiff and wasn't going down fully so I had to use force. Could it have some influence on its suction?

Anyway, I've vacuumed the carpet where our cat pissed some time ago and now the vacuum stinks when it's on. Changed the bag and put the freshener in the bag chamber but it didn't help. The bag wasn't damp or anything so I don't know where the smell came from. Could buying that charcoal filter help? It's got mixed reviews though.

It is not very good for long hair I'm afraid. I've only used it once in my partner's sister house and the brush roll doesn't look good.

The head also gets caught on skirting boards and I'm a bit scared that with time this part here is going to come loose.

My Felix gets hammered most days. I have to say I’ve never noticed anything loose or falling off. But yes, like most Sebo’s I’ve used, the brush does require regular cleaning. Thankfully though, they make it easy  to remove!

Would you say that it needs a new hose? It doesn't seem to be ripped or anything.

Probably not, it may not be any different. Mine does that now and again, but I push it along, it picks up the dirt and I don’t really pay it any more attention 😂
