Dyson discontinue support for the DC07!!!
« on: August 24, 2019, 12:21:10 am »
So in the USA Dyson have discontinued support for the DC07! I think they have for the Uk as well because it's either my laptop or the page won't load because they really have discontinued parts, none of them show except for the accessories you can buy -_- gutted, the DC07 is a really good machine and it's 2019 and there are still LOADS of Dc07 owners, they are very common, but cordless is apparently the future eh, maybe we gotta move on with the times

Official support for the dc17 has also ended. I know these models will hang on for some time with aftermarket parts but nice dc07s are already getting harder to find here. It doesn't help that the plastic dissolves  :underchair:

Gone are the days when cleaners would be made and sold for decades with minor face-lifts, allowing for almost constant parts availability. I can still buy a commercial version of the hoover senior brand new if I wanted.

Dyson is steadily approaching an annual cordless v10/11/12/13 release schedule. With these cleaners getting increasingly complicated with increasing reliance on computers and embedded battery software I can only see long term support getting worse. Not only do batteries act as ticking time bombs, but with the aforementioned software it will only get harder for non-genuine batteries to be made.

I actually bought a new dyson cylinder a couple weeks ago, need to make sure I don't get attached to it!

Dysondc16 that sucks because the dc17 isn’t even that old, and I’m sure it wasn’t discontinued at least 10 years ago either along with that model being very popular

Ryevac that’s a good idea haha, I have a few spare dc07s but I reckon they’re that well built and designed that they’ll still be around in the next decade as long as qtex still make motors etc

That is exactly what Sebo do. Why we sell them. Most parts are still available for all models.

There is no shortage of the routine stuff for DC07s yet. Not much came from Dyson genuine anyway.

Duct assemblies (the chassis) are no longer available new. Nor are cyclones. But used will usually do.

Was with my cousin the other day as we drove around in Rochdale late at night, we drove past a bathroom shop and guess what vacuum I saw in there? A DC07 Animal! ;D It could have been any vacuum to ever have existed in the UK but it happened to be a DC07, so yes I agree, there shouldn't be any shortage of parts stock yet as they are massively used today still.

In reply to Dyson fans I still rate the non clutch DC07 as the best carpet cleaning model they ever produced, although I will agree the DC14 is lighter and more user friendly.

A non clutched DC07 is my favourite too, utterly brutal!

I agree a non clutch DC07 (or DC14 for that matter) is a brutal machine on carpets.
