You really won't need to do that... But yes, it smacks out, the bearing stays on the armature... Make sure you key t he carbon brushes so they go on the same side and orientation as they came off though or it smells like its burning out for a while until the carbon re-profiles...

I have put everything back together, including the motor after not being able to find the cause. The cleaner is still not working.

I am puzzled!

I have found this. Does anyone recognise it. This could be the cause of the problem, but I cannot find where it has broken off!

That looks like it should go on the little motor pcb.... might want to re-check!

No, I don't think it's the triac off the TOC.

The only place I can think of, is from the PCB/switch assembly.

However, a photo of one for sale doesn't show one on there.

I thought it may have fallen off the little circuit board next to the white four pin plug.
