Motor housing top gasket fitted

Hole

ila_rendered

No hole

ila_rendered

Utterly brilliantly, the trim piece was printed from the back, so I could get the top surface really polished! This is the 2nd best one, could not get those 2 deep scratches out

ila_rendered

Power button fitted

ila_rendered

And the top shell can be lowered on and screwed up

ila_rendered

I refitted one filter, I find two restricts the airflow a bit, or at least it does on Dolphins

ila_rendered

Bag holder fitted

ila_rendered

Bag compartment lid sealed

ila_rendered

And fitted to the machine

Tooled up

ila_rendered

No filters fitted for now, so cage top on

ila_rendered

And with that, the 2nd best one was together and ready for finishing!

ila_rendered

I then put the best one together!

ila_rendered

I got the makeup out and had some tea

Then they were done

Fun fact, they are 2 different shades! As I found out when I went to fit the body panels and put the wrong tool door on the wrong shell

And  I even used it as Vacuum of the Month 2019, where I discovered a few flaws...

But, I am ever so pleased to have one! They are lovely, and it will have a place in my collection for a while to come!

Thanks for reading

The Electrolux 4x4 is a very rare vacuum cleaner. Born in the early 1990s as the top of the line cylinder cleaner, it did not sell well. I've never really seen one in real life...

So, naturally, I found myself with 2 of them!

I dont believe I ever saw one before. How did you find two?

Both belonged to another collector. One he paid a couple of hundred quid for, the other he found on facebook for £30 a few months later (as you do)

One stank of air freshener and the other does jump about a tiny bit when you change the power, so the job paid for itself and he got possibly the mintiest one there is ever, and ive got the 2nd!

Their ruddy clunky to use though, the floor tool is horrible and infared has no place on a vac.

Having used a Dolphin and this for a month, I'd choose the dolphin every day.
Still love it though...
