Hi MV,
I noticed from your pics in your post that your rear hoses are all hanging up in the shop. Having recently bought a few from you for repair jobs, I noticed that obviously they arrived curled up in the box. Would you advise that I take them out and hang them in case they develop a memory kink or some other abnormality?
The answer would seem obvious, I would just like you to confirm and give any words of caution to anyone thinking of storing them rolled up to save space in the garage/workshop

I think the pic where they are hanging up is very old. We now store them straight and horizontally. I doubt they'd develop a kink if stored curled up.

Thank you for the clarification     Never thought about the third option of horizontal storage. That said, I now have my doubts about hanging them as they could then possibly even develop a memory from being stretched for long periods and putting an unnecessary strain on the whole hose components - just think about it for a minute. 

I think the way to go is Horizontal - (No stretching - No curling) but just laying in a natural unstressed position, How about that for a simple piece of logical common sense     

Memo to self - Win the lottery, buy a bigger house with a double garage, and buy loads of shelving - way to go.

I'm pleased that you have not experienced storage problems while packing hoses curled up for long periods. Unfortunately, I'm from the "what if brigade", and put forward my views accordingly. But if it works OK for you, go for it 

Just thought of a fourth way to go on this subject. Don't buy in quantity at all, just buy a one off as and when you need one for a job. This of course also has potential downsides:-
1. Time wasted waiting for delivery.
2. Postage for one item would probably be the same for several purchased at once.
3. Item may be out of stock from your regular supplier.
4. Shock horror - Item may now be obsolete and unobtainable.
5. Less profit due to cost average showing a higher unit cost.

There are probably more downsides, just throwing it out there. It's that damned "What if" voice kicking in again.
