Is this a part?
« on: October 11, 2019, 04:56:13 PM »
Hi
I'm half way through dismantling my DC07 to replace the motor.  As I was removing the clutch assembly this fell out:

Can anyone please tell me if this is a part out of the machine, or something which just got in there somehow.  It's about 2 3/4 inch long and 3/32 wide.  I wouldn't want to start the machine with some thing missing and destroy the new motor.
Cheers

John

It is a locating pin that goes in the clutch cover.

Thanks very much, I've found the location.  There's a slight problem though:  The bit the pin goes into has a split in it which won't push together enough to glue.  Would it be OK for me to superglue the pin in place, or does it need to be removable?

I guess you could glue it in, it wouldn't make much difference.
