Sebo Airbelt E1
« on: October 18, 2019, 01:58:13 AM »
Has any of you guys have this machine? How does it perform?
According to Which it is rubbish on carpets, Good housekeeping also says that it's poor on carpets.
Some people say that it loses suction once the bag gets half full.
I must say that I had a go in John Lewis store last Sunday and I'm really impressed.
I had a look at it some time ago but then it seemed heavy.
I absolutely love the upholstery tool on this model. The placement is perfect.
How do you think it compares to Miele C3?
Miele's noticeably bigger but while testing in store it seemed like C3 had a better suction.

I've gone mad  :-X :-X :-X
When I saw this on Marketplace for £50 I couldn't resist. The lady was selling it as the suction wasn't good enough for picking up dog hair.

When we came to pick it up, the lady asked if we wanted to try it out. It was on the lowest setting so I turned it to MAX and she said that she didn't even know that you could do it  :boggleeye: :sick0012:

It had the genuine bag but the dust compartment was a bit dusty

I managed to clean the turbo brush, it was a bit tricky I must say

Filters look clean to me.

It's light and small. Got tools on board and isn't very loud. Hard to say if Small Ball got more suction but Sebo's definitely quieter.
Sadly I'm already a bit disappointed. Kombi tool isn't very good on hard floors. It struggles with car litter on tiled floor and upholstery tool comes off the hose end while vacuuming cushions and throws.
I don't know if it's normal but there's also a gap between wand and hose cause there's a bit of suction there. If you know what I mean. :whist11:

That looks to be a Boost model.

You know you can hit the power button again, it starts to flash and the power goes up to 1200w?

That's a good buy for fifty quid, that looks to be a John Lewis [de] spec [ced] model that they probably charge/d circa £300 for.

No, it doesn't seem to have Boost, it just turns off when I hit the button again.
It also has a strangely short lead. I literally have to unplug it to vacuum each level in my house

Must be a 2017/18 model then. After the EU regulations making everything under 900w but before the E1 Boost came out.

This Kombi tool is absolutely awful on hard floors. It doesn't even pick up bread crumbs.  :sick0012:
Well, not really sure what to think about it. It's really small and quiet but my Small Ball wins when it comes to attachments.
Sebo's dusting brush is disappointing as well. On the lowest suction the bristles are sucked by the machine so for example cat hair on windowsills just get stuck on bristles.
Turbo brush copes well with hair but it doesn't seem to clean carpet very well.
Anyway, my partner likes it so we're probably gonna keep it

A wee tip for improving the kombi head is to remove the side suction channel blockers. Means it doesnít seal to the floor. I had to buy a parquet brush for mine as I couldnít cope with the kombi. I found with mine he upholstery tools is a really loose fit on the hose end. Sebo even sent me a new brush but it is still loose. One more con (sorry for the moan!!) is that even when I put a new bag the bag compartment gets dusty after one use. However itís powerful and the turbo is fantastic on carpet. The parquet brush is amazing too. I still prefer my Miele C3 but itís a nice change
