DC50 Motor Removal and Rebuild Questions
« on: June 09, 2020, 08:50:03 am »
DC50 sparking & loss of power. Did my usual trick of carefully taking it apart. Now haven't a clue about how to put it back together  :'( Also need replacement internal hose as it has split, oh, and a new motor of course. Original plan: clean and sell the bits to recover some cash to pay for new Dyson ... new Dyson bought but now I fancy the challenge of rebuilding the DC50 with new parts.

Any good vids / exploded views most welcome  :tiphat:

Welcome.  :tiphat:

I am not aware we have a DC50 rebuild topic, however, the DC50 is very similar to the DC40 but a bit smaller. We do have a DC40 rebuild topic you can read >here< which is more helpful than nothing.

That's very helpful, thank you. I've ordered my new motor & internal hose so will begin the adventure when they arrive. I might try to capture a few pictures of the process too. In other news I found this on youtube: It seems that AllVacuumBrandsCTN1 have a good collection of strip/rebuild vids including DC50.
