I got another cleaner from Marketplace. This time decided to go back to Dyson. I must say I was really tempted to try it out after watching ibaisaic's review.
This one was sold as spares or repairs as it apparently cuts off.
I cleaned the cleaner head. Wiped the cyclone and bin. Was hoping not to dismantle it but I had to get new filters as old pre motor was literally heavy and had solid dirt inside that I couldn't take out. After quick run in my house new filter is already dirty so as I assume the cyclone needs to be cleaned.
Same with post motor filter, there's also noticeably dust on it.
It's really hard to manouvre on hard floors though. It just simply doesn't want to turn. Is this normal on this model? On carpets though I can't feel it lifting the carpet even on the MAX. Despite cleaning the brushroll it takes few passes to clean pet hair or fluff from carpet. It's like it was kinda floating on it. Is this normal?
Another thing that I'm not sure about is the noise. I don't think it's normal but I can't tell for sure..

I would say dry bearings in motor, that filter has probably never been cleaned, never mind being replaced.
If it's going to be sold on then i would replace the yoke loom as well as stripping motor, check brushes and if bearings ok you may get away with a few drops of thick gear oil in them.

Just took it to my partner's mother house. She's got a thicker pile carpets and it's not hard to push even when it's switched to MAX.
Like I said, it just gently floats on the carpet.
I checked the suction, really strong. What could be wrong?

is suction good at the head unit ? - not just from the wand when machine is upright.
I ask as it is possible the internal hose from head to bypass mech is split

Yes it is strong and the hose isn't split. The only thing that seems not right is that duct hatch doesn't close tightly, it's a bit loose. Is it supposed to be like this?
Actually as I'm watching vids now, to put the cleaner back in upright position I need to push the wheels down with my foot as it's not normal is it?

I've just dismantled the cyclone. Almost all holes are clogged with dust only two are clean. How can it even work and have a strong suction?
Sadly I was so stupid that I unscrewed the screws to take the top part off and now I realised that I'm never gonna be able to put it back on, no chance in hell I could put the screws in those holes on the bottom.
So basically it's just a wasted money really as buying new cyclone isn't worth it.
I give it a try once it's dry but
Edit: I managed to dismantle it fully, I only can't take the mesh part off, can't figure out how to slide it off. To be honest it's got few rips. Can it affect anything?

That machine needs a proper service by someone who knows what they're doing with them.

Those someone who know what they're doing didn't know it all when they started and I'm pretty sure they were asking questions those who had more experience and knew what to do.
I didn't know the forum's only for those experienced ones, my apologies.

Buy yourself a set of small torx screwdrivers, but long ones. Then follow my thread on finishing stripping the cyclone down, and re-assembling it correctly.
Their usually good performers. Check the changeover valve is working correctly too, take off both ball shells and watch it as you recline and stand the machine up

I have a set of Torx screwdrivers.
I managed to put it all together with a lot of swearing while placing the string behind the release bin button.
It was extremely dusty behind the ball shell. Where does it come from? It can't all be from post motor filter can it? The air must be leaking somewhere else than post motor filter.

Hi the mesh is easy to take off if you look at the back there is a cutout bit. You need a very thin flat blade and prize down into it slightly then follow around the profile.

Another point, whenever i do for example a dc24/25 before stripping the cyclones, i remove all the dust i can and soak them in very hot water.
With the above models cyclones they can be very easily disassembled with very little force if done when hot.

There's two types, I'd need to see the broken off bit.
