DC29 bar doesn’t spin

Hoping for some advice... I apologize in advance for the way I name stuff below.

Vacuum powers up fine (red switch) but the beater bar switch doesn’t activate it (grey switch).

Took the top plastic pieces off to directly access the switches, same problem.  I guess there’s some sort of a switch that shows that the vacuum is down into “carpet mode” (not 90 degrees) that I’m guessing is faulty.  Whereabouts would that be?  Any other ideas? 

The actual bar isn’t clogged w hair.

The DC29 is pretty much a DC19 over here.

This machine of yours has 2 buttons? So it has an electrically driven powerhead? Is this a Canadian 110-120v machine?

Yes, that’s correct.  I pulled off the power head to ensure there was no large blockage as well (as per Dyson troubleshooting email) but no change.  Should it have 120V at the 2 pin connector to the power head after the switch is pressed?

I don't know, and why I don't know is that that machine with a power head wasn't sold here so I've never seen one.

However, logic persists across the range........

What do you have coming out of the machine? Look at AC and DC as some machines run head motors that are DC.

Burnt, is this an upright machine or a cylinder?

Looks like a dc25 by the results of a google.

Should be 120v~ at the body output to the head.

Firstly i would look at the cut out switch (red peg) next to the power switch, then the main roller switch next to it.
Then check the axis switch on lhs
Next would be yoke cable (most likely)
Finally head motor could be at fault (end of life).
