Pet Dryers
« on: March 05, 2020, 05:12:04 pm »
I am killing a bit of time after just repairing another Dog groomers blower dryer.

Has anyone worked on one before if you havent then start fixing them.

Relatively easy to work on and they are good money makers especially the twin motor wall mounted ones.

Most will accept a Dyson clone motor if the motors failed, They are usually full of animal hair really easy to take apart to clean out.

I see a couple a month from the local pet groomers and once word gets around that they dont have to be looked at by specialist pet grooming suppliers you can see a good regular income from them.

We had some in in our old shop and had to send them back.

They were basically just metal boxes with a motor in but the access area has been sealed with a really hard silicone/Sikaflex type stuff we couldn't easily get off (hard enough to break Stanley blades), so we couldn't get in them in a timely manner. I'm not paying a bloke one hour to chip away at sealer and then another hour to repair it and make it waterproof again.

We sent them back as an uneconomical repair.

These are the Type I see for repair never come across any that are sealed with silicone usually just self tappers holding them together.
The big square wall mounted ones are the easiest to work on.
