Motor cutting out.

I would appreciate any comments on a problem I have with my Sebo X1.1.  Motor runs fine when I push the machine forward but cuts out when I pull the machine back . I've fitted new filters and new carbon brushes but no difference.  I've also checked all the electrical connectors and can't see a problem anywhere.  Anyone got any ideas?

probably cable entry point under handle, alternatively the connections at bottom of handle that pushes into body / or main body connections that go into base unit.
first port of call is mains cable entry point, cut it back 12" and rewire then move onto other areas if problem persists.

All electrical connectors have been checked and mains cable to handle has been completely replaced.  I'm wondering if the bag full sensor is dying, maybe that could be the cause.  Thanks Ryevac for your suggestions.

Where the handle goes into the body there will be a small crack inside there. You'll be hard pressed to find it. What it does is when you pull the machine back, the crack opens causing the socket to loosen and the electrical connections lose contact. Push forward and they make contact again.

With this fault, people seem to think its the locking lever that holds the handle in; it isn't.

Play around with that and see, if it is that, a replacement main rear body is required.
