Problem refitting rubber seal in Dyson DC39 Cyclone unit
« on: March 31, 2020, 03:27:02 pm »
Hello,

I've just stripped down the Cyclone from my Dyson DC39, replacing the foam gasket at the very top.

I'm having problems refitting the large rubber O ring/seal which sits just below the top section. It won't stay in place, even with an extra pair of hands to help. The rubber seems to have lost its stretch, and I'm wondering if it's starting to perish and no longer able to grip. I have been looking for a replacement seal, but neither Manchester Vacs or anyone else seems to have them.
Any ideas please?

Thank you.

Ian

You got any pictures, not stripped one down for a while so can't remember the layout off the top of my head

I'm having problems refitting the large rubber O ring/seal which sits just below the top section.

Is it this one?

If so, you put it on last when the whole cyclone is assembled. It will stay in place then.

If its a different one, can you post a photo of which seal please?

Thank you - All sorted!

Putting the seal on last was the answer, and so easy in the end.

Thank you again,

Ian ;)

Dear Gerard,

Thank you for your post.

The problem has just been sorted, by putting the seal on after the whole cyclone is put together.

Thanks again,

ian
