The baseplate can go back on now

and we can turn to the hood, that got a very thorough machine polishing!

ila_rendered

I cleaned the burn mark off underneath as best I could, this bit is a scar though

ila_rendered

All refitted! The HOOVER on the front blank got a bare whisper of a clean through fear of removing the immaculate lettering

ila_rendered

We can bring the wiring up to the handle bail now and re-wire it all up, including the cleaned mains cable

ila_rendered

Re-fit the handle grip with some fresh glue

ila_rendered

I also found this on the cable, which was very annoying

ila_rendered

To save the original cable (it was right in the middle so I couldn't even shop it down at the plug end) I slipped a bit of heatshrink over it

There we go, you would know unless I told you there was even a bit of a bodge there!

We can then get the handle on

The cleaned up bag flange can go on the cleaned up bag

and it can be re-fitted to the cleaner

We can finish her off now

I fibbed in the previous post, I cleaned the cable now! Few damp wipes then some dry ones with a microfibre bought it up a treat

Once the wax was buffed off, and the tyre shine dried and was buffed to a more matt finish, it looks the business

But, does it work any better?

Yup, loads! Thanks for reading!

Fabulous rebuild as ever!

I don’t ever recall seeing this variant. Unusual machine.

I think it's one of those ones they sold about 143 of and then stopped... Then 3/4 of those got used to death, replacement pattern bag etc. This one belongs to another collector and sits (now) in his special pile.
