Author Topic: Sebo G1 repair, remove swivel neck (Read 2828 times)

I have a G1 and need to replace the bypass valve on it (not sure why this is the only model with it). The issue I have is that I am not sure how to remove the swivel neck to get access to the valve. I have removed everything else from the unit and only have the neck left.

Does anyone know how to remove it?

Doesn't it come off like this one on the X4 with several screws?

How did you come across a G1 in the UK anyway? Aren't they an overseas market machine?

I thought it would come out that way, but it doesn't seem to want to budge. I don't want to force it and I can't see any screws or anything that holds it in.

I got the machine from Germany some time ago and it's not under warranty any longer as it is over five years old.

I've added more images to show what is not moving. So when I tug on it or push it from the bottom the right side (when looking at the machine face on) moves, and the bottom left moves. What doesn't seem to want to move is the top right corner. it just will no budge, I thought the rear wheels may be screwed into the base some how so I removed them but that still doesn't want to make it budge.

The only difference I can see is the front left corner which is the adjustment for the movement up and down. Again I disconnected this and removed the spring. Still the top left does not want to move. There are no other screws from below.

Nothing is in the exploded diagram either that shows it is held on in any other way.

I showed this our chap, a G1 differs a little from an X series he says, and has some components that appear to be from the Evolution series.

On An Evolution, you release that mechanism after unscrewing it using the two tabs indicated here.

A screwdriver in those slots releases it, if yours has those slots?

Thanks for the prompt, I managed to find it - you are indeed correct, however it is well hidden on this one no hole to open it with.

I managed to get a full set of instructions to fix it. I noticed that you have to adjust it to make sure it is correctly aligned and working within the parameters set.

I've uploaded the instructions here for anyone else that may need them, I know some other people had a G1 with similar issues and also I believe one of the Diversy models also is the same.
