Hello, I'm a bit puzzled with the lack of voltage on a handheld D45, the points below the filter.
Shouldn't there be a read on my voltmeter when I turn it on?
Thanks

No i don't think so.
I suspect a the head motor completes the circuit similar to an open collector circuit.

If you have no head operation, either try another known working head, clean all connection points and carry out a continuity check between those connections and the head motor connections.

In the past i have had a couple with similar faults, the hand units output had failed and is not serviceable as far as i know.
There are a few checks you need to do before condemning the hand unit.
I would test the motor first with an external voltage source if possible and a continuity check to the head assy (and clean connectors)

The only way to fail is not to try.

I would test the hand unit by connecting one side of a 50 ohm resistor to one of the said connections and a multimeter set to dc current between the open side of the resistor and the other connection.
Pull the trigger and if it's a 21v output it should read approx 420ma, if it reads zero then suspect hand unit.

Sure other guys will correct me if i am wrong  :underchair:
