Noisy DC14
« on: September 14, 2011, 12:15:17 pm »
Hello all I do hope someone can help. I am trying to find the fault with my neighbours DC14. It is making a high pitched roar when on but there is no loss of suction. The filters seem fine and the regular trap points are clear. As I use a DC07 I have little knowledge about the 14. I have unclippped a housing on the lower left side which is hollow and circular but with an entrance exit hole. Should there be a filter in here? Am at a loss.
Regards

The filter in the DC14 is in the cyclone unit. That housing that holds a filter on your DC07 is supposed to be empty on a DC14. There is a DC14 filter video tutorial here: Changing the Dyson DC14 filters.

If that filter is OK, try to see where the noise is coming from, and describe it a bit better if you can so I can tell you more.  ;)
