Sebo x4 belt sensor unit
« on: June 03, 2020, 07:31:50 PM »
Hi recently replaced height adjuster motor because vacuum was stuck with brush bar in highest position. Worked ok for a while. More recently the Hoover was vibrating and noisy . Stripped off outer cover to discover belt sensor unit was rubbing the PCB board and then found it was grinding on base plate as well. Is is ok just to replace belt sensor unit or is there likely to be a larger problem. The belt drive sensor unit grey disc appears to be distorted and doesn't sit concentric on its shaft. Type 4 belt sensor unit.
Thanks for any help or advice.

Sometimes one of the wheels on the belt sensor comes adrift and causes the problem you mention.

Often you can solve it by just replacing the belt sensor but you need to check the three little sensors on the PCB to make sure they are not damaged if one of them is damaged you need to replace the PCB as well.

Remove the PCB and turn it over to see the three little things I mean where the wheel has touched them.

We wouldn't repair that. But its possible a blob of solder might fix it. You'd not know till you ran it.
