Sebo Airbelt E Series Kombi Head:, How to Open It?
« on: June 21, 2020, 02:49:18 pm »
How do you open up the Airbelt E Series Kombi head to clean it? It looks simple enough. 2 screws at the back: off, 2 screws holding the metal plate: off, then 2 smaller screws under the plate next to the wheel axles: off.
But it still won't come apart. Something else at the front end is still holding the casing together, but what? Possibly more screws under the wheels, but I can see no way to remove them?

We usually just do Kombi heads with the pressure washer.

I could resort to that. Clogged solid with dog hair. But it's just got me irritated now, because it's clearly designed to be opened up.

I have just read this post and totally sympathise with that feeling of irritation having just searched for advice on this topic. However I cracked it myself. the axles of the small wheels at the front can be slid sideways by means of a screwdriver inserted in the notches at their inner ends. I had moved the axles far enough to release the wheels thinking that there might be another pair of screws underneath. The axles must be completely removed to release the two halves of the suction head.
Sneaky that, making the axles perform two functions.

Or innovative engineering, depending on your point of view.

But strong info, thanks Ken.

Hey there, I just got the Sebo E1 used and I tried to clean the kombi head, took out 8 screws and 3 plastic pieces and one metallic plate, I pushed the little axle inwards so it stayed flush on the edge but I still can't take it apart. What am I missing? Here's a picture.

Tried to flex the plastic in between with a flat screwhead but didn't do anything. Any ideas?

I just asked our chap and he said he's never needed to open one fully. We clean them with the pressure washer.

I don't have a pressure washer so I need to take it apart somehow, there's hair stuck inside at 2 places, here's the pics.

It's underneath that area

The pictures don't show everything, there's more inside if you watch it closely. Should I just submerge it in water?

I'd be inclined to pop to the local petrol station and use the pressure washer there. Or where that dust is, an airline will blow it out too.
