DC40 ERP/non ERP Compatibility?

Can I use an ERP head on a non-ERP body, or vice versa, just to test a fault? Are they electrically identical, in terms of DC output to the brushroll motor? As the PCB's are different, I'm thinking maybe I can't.
I have a suspect ERP head with a blown brushroll motor and would like to test it on a spare non ERP body.

I don't think it will fit correctly, generally i suspect the yoke cable, then the motor and if really unlucky the erp pcb inside the ball will be damaged too.

Just for once, I got lucky. Meter tested at the head and got a full 320V DC. So the yoke and PCB are OK. Stripped down the brushroll motor and it's toast. Literally.
Also found 3 snails in the internal ducting, sadly all deceased. That's a first.
