The front wheels can be assembled now, with some grease too to prevent re-corroding

ila_rendered

Wheels fitted

ila_rendered

Wheels retained

ila_rendered

Time to fit the motor now, and a smear of washing up liquid/glass cleaner around the small rubber mount, then over the mating face of the large fan rubber mount. Pop the belt spindle end in first and push, the fancase side will slide easily into place ,it's a tight fit. Pop the big clamp on

ila_rendered

Time to fit a back chassis. Refit the white recline bush (it only goes on one exact way)

ila_rendered

Moar grease

ila_rendered

And fit it all together

ila_rendered

And clamp

ila_rendered

Onto... the autoflex module!

Our cable is lovely and clean and brown

ila_rendered

We start the loop off through the donut

ila_rendered

Then it went over the reel, and pulled together. The cord got fitted to the terminals and then the clamp, and adjusted so it sat correctly

ila_rendered

Then I followed the service manual

ila_rendered

(which does work well, it is fairly easy to do) to refit and tension the reel assembly

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

Cord brake stuff back together

ila_rendered

Helps to hold the flex in place as you do this otherwise it shoots off into the cord reel and you have to tension it all over again!

ila_rendered

Screw the 2 cord guide screws in

Wire the (frankly far too modern) plug back on

ila_rendered

And screw the autoflex assembly into place.

Bag compartment loom now

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

and hidden away!

ila_rendered

Now, we can fit the trunnion cover to the rear chassis

ila_rendered

and move onto the brushroll! Vibration washer in

ila_rendered

Then new (non genuine) brushroll bearings

ila_rendered

I found 2 brand new genuine plastic caps too

Brushroll assembled

ila_rendered

The belt was very worn, so I grabbed another one

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

Baseplate on

ila_rendered

Height knob fitted

ila_rendered

A smear of black silicone applied to the busted screw cover to make it less obvious

ila_rendered

Handle back on

The bag door latch can be fitted, and the bag door itself snapped onto new hinge brackets

ila_rendered

Was then time for some detailing

ila_rendered

I found some cracks whilst doing this though, so out with the glue!

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

And the wax to try and hide this huge scrape

ila_rendered

I was finding it hard to sleep at night knowing there was a Dyson belt on this Hoover, so I found a genuine belt and a genuine bulb to replace the blown one

ila_rendered

One last look under the hood

Epic rebuild as ever.

Is that one for the personal collection or a flogsie? What are they worth nowadays?

Neither, was a refurb job for another collector. One as minty as this one should be rights fetch a few hundred quid, tidy but basic U2332's are fetching £100 now.

I had the Red one that went alongside it (there's a refurb thread on it) and I sold that for £80 which was far too cheap but I needed rid of stuff fast etc.
