hi i have just got a new motor for my dc14 and when i plug the cables to test it starts then flash and the cables blow off any ideas thanks

Motors run which ever way you wire them don't they? Don't they just run the opposite way if you reverse the polarity?
I might be wrong...... I am remembering stuff from school here.......

well the fact was as i tested the motor i did not hold it so it moved itself away from the houseing and broke the connection itself when i placed it in the houseing it worked fine
