Locked down & bored in Peterborough
« on: November 10, 2020, 11:31:34 am »
Hi all, I figured it's probably time to show my face on here.

I've always had a penchant for old tech but got into collecting Dysons a couple of years ago. It's a fantastically cheap hobby if you're willing to cut out someone else's hair from a brushroll.

During the day I'm a motoring journalist, writing about and reviewing cars, so if you're into that (or even just the vacuums) I post both sides on Twitter. https://twitter.com/mctreckmeister

Current collection is pictured below, and includes:
DC01 De Stijl
DC02
DC03 Clear
DC04
DC05 Motorhead (not pictured... currently poorly)
DC11 Allergy
DC15
DC33 Animal
V6 Fluffy - the 'daily driver'

Kirby Tradition
Vorwerk Kobold
Henry Turbo
Hitachi CV160
Maytag Satellite
Oreck XL

Also not pictured are a couple of 1930s models I picked up for a song, but they're a bit older than I like so I suspect I'll clean them up and move them on.

I love the Hitachi CV160, one of my favourite machines  ;)

Welcome Tom, I think you’re in good company here.

I’m liking the motoring journalism too. Clarkson is one of my favourite writers.  :coffee:

You’ve certainly got an eclectic mix of machines there. I just followed you on Twitter.

It's cute, right? Trying to figure out if there's a way I can fit a bag without totally butchering it, as I'd use it more if the filter didn't get gummed up so quickly.

If there's anything worth adding to the thread, it's this. Quite happy with how it performs but I'm on the lookout for new bearings in the motorhead!
