DC40 - poor suction
« on: August 22, 2020, 07:17:48 pm »
My DC40 has poor suction.

I've looked for blockadges and it's seems to be okay.

The bottom head spins - but there is poor suction when you put your hand at the bottom. There is also poor suction in the wand!

i've taken the cyclone off - and there seems to be some suction there - but it's not a lot.

Also - the machine balls gets warm - and sometimes smells 'hot'.

Any ideas what I should do?

If it’s never had a service, fresh filters or any routine maintenance, assuming the motor sounds okay and the brush roll turns, that would be the place to start.
