The good thing about doing this from 2 machines is I can choose the parts that came out the best, on silly things like these front wheel axles



The best wheels





After lots of polishing the original paintwork is firmly in patina territory, rather than trashed!



Best stick the motor down



Plug all the wires back in and route them all





An brushroll and new belt fitted



These parts were the lesser of a pair

We take a slight tangent here. On both of the machines so far, neither had a complete handle bail's worth of non damaged parts. So I paid postage for this poor old thing





Can't notice much difference tbh...





Especially after I polished the hood



Soon we have lots of parts again



And a correct 652a rear wheel axle



A much nicer lower handle cover



And most needed, a non bent handle bail axle

Time to rebuild



Axle in one side, then fit the spring and flange latch



Wire clip and circlip



Height adjust pedal



A non bent height adjuster bracket came out of the scrapper too



Recline lock can be built up





Rear wheel axle fitted with the space shim

A non cracked tool port diverter flap came up too!



A spring hole is drilled into the 652a chassis for the height adjuster spring





That's all looking much better



Time to build the cable up quickly



Find a more appropriate bulb





Fashion a bag flange seal out of silicone



And with the handle from the scrapper fitted it looks a fair bit better



It all works alot better too!

262 still needs paint, been raining here constantly, and now it's sunny I'm neck deep in my day job...
