DC14 wand suction
« on: November 24, 2020, 08:54:02 am »
I've cleaned out any obstructions that I could find. The wand doesn't have a lot of suction.

The problem with mine (red version) seems to have to do with the part inside the lid behind the black plastic part that has a spring around it, and which I can see through the little vent on the top of the lid beneath the handle. I can see a flat black part inside the vent.
When attempting to use the wand, when the vacuum is first turned on, it sounds normal but in a couple seconds, it sounds like an air hiss at that vent. With a light, I can see that flat piece lower when the hiss starts. I'm not sure what's normal there.

Is this anything I can fix or hack? I have not tried to unscrew that part to take a look.

That part you describe is the relief valve activating, because the suction is obstructed. The fault is not with this part, you can ignore it. It’ll be blocked somewhere or require a filter wash / replacement
