help! Dyson dc19 motor
« on: January 29, 2021, 11:10:25 am »
I've had a Dyson dc19 in for a repair because it smelt bad, they used it heavily for D.I.Y and I gave it a full refurb (watched beko1987's tutorial). I don't think its a dc19 t2 because its ratings plate says its a dc19 Db (which I think means decibel because it has bits of foam on the end of the exhaust. When I first plugged it in it stank and it sounded awful so I striped it and cleaned it and ordered a new post motor filter (it desperately needed it). I put it all back together and plugged it in (with no filters because I only needed to know what the motor was like) and it made the exact same horrible noise but with a lot of little bangs which was its motor blowing up (if it didn't have any filter covers etc. I probably would have seen sparks and flames). It was probably sparking before it was just blocked out but the dust and dirt that was on the post motor filter.

So it needs a new motor, where is the best and cheapest place to purchase one?
Thanks

Best and cheapest are not the same thing.

Ours are >here<.

In terms of cheap ones, have a read of >this<.
