DC24 Loss of suction, potential missing small part
« on: January 31, 2021, 01:39:25 pm »
Hi, I have a DC24 that lost suction, and I've a feeling there's a little part I'm missing, from the cap assembly attached. Note how there's white scuff marks, as though something has broken off. When I place my thumb over this little white filter (?), the suction improves hugely.

Would love to know if I'm right about the missing part, and where to get it if so. Thanks in advance, Alex

That's normal. if you push the centre with your finger you should feel a spring resistance.
If you have suction problems then look for a blockage and check filters.
The only way to fail is not to try.

does machine have lack of suction ?
(oh yes just read your first post again.)
If so, press red release button, pull shaft up and see if suction is there on the pipe end.
as you pull the pipe out of the hose you should hear changeover valve assembly go with a little thump.
If suction is there at the hose then there is a blockage from the changeover valve to the head assembly.

Try that, i can do a vid possibly on it, the 24 is prone to blocking i find from the head exit to side pipe to flexi link.
The only way to fail is not to try.
