Dc14 soleplate floor contact
« on: February 13, 2021, 01:31:43 pm »
Hi all
Wonder if anyone could help me, recently acquired DC14 clutched model in great condition except it doesn’t seem to make good contact with the carpet leading to poor cleaning performance.
I have recently replaced the brush roll thinking that would groom into the carpet better but no success.

The short hose is still pretty rigid but I have ordered a replacement to see if that helps - it just seems like something is missing to maintain contact with the carpet.

Picture attached when in upright position with pen to show the gap, other clutched models seem to have the soleplate flat to the floor when stood upright.

Any one got any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Turn the small hose about a third of a turn one way or the other. They get firm and the floorhead angle becomes wrong. Turning it usually corrects the angle.

A new hose is ideal but get a genuine one as all non-genuine ones are crap.
