Too much suction with "Direct Drive"
« on: February 27, 2021, 03:13:52 pm »
Hi. I am having a problem with my "Direct Drive" head. It sucks to hard on both normal and max power, and it pulls itself into the carpet, and stop rolling and I cant move it.

Is there a tool or adapter that lets you regulate the suction, and let some of the air out?

This guys shows (link below) what he calls a "Suction Reducer Tool" that came in a V10, but I cant find any mentions of it on the internet. It just lets you regulate the air with a tiny hole, which is common on alot of "normal" vacuums I have had in the past.

Anyone know where i can find it ?

Thanks in advance

Has it just started doing this or is it a new machine that has done it from the start?

Is this deep pile carpet?

Out off the box. One of the carpets are thick, but its like "knitted or knots" and the other has rubber underneath.

No Dyson cordless will work well on deep pile carpet or rubber-backed carpet and mats.

It sounds like the machine you bought is unsuitable for your floor types.

We serviced a cordless recently and the woman brought it back and complained she can't push it any more. After finding nothing wrong with it, she returned with a carpet sample. Rubber backed. We ended up drilling some holes in it to make it inefficient enough that she could push it and she eventually went away happy.

I asked him on the video and he said:
"Unfortunately since I made this video Dyson have discontinued this tool."
