Moving onto the lower layer now, fit the gasket to the underside

ila_rendered

Gather up the sharp things

ila_rendered

And fit them all back in

ila_rendered

Drop the outer ring on

ila_rendered

And fit

ila_rendered

Back upside down and fit the last layer of rubber nipples

ila_rendered

Then the bottom cone

ila_rendered

Which I found would not go on with the cones fitted to the main unit. So i fitted the cones to the cone

ila_rendered

Then sat it down and screwed it together

Looking better now

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

Very gently slide the shroud on and click it into place

ila_rendered

Demonstrating the shroud cleaner. Made because you cant get even your little finger up here without removing the bin. I bet these never got used ever...

ila_rendered

Rubber your flap up

ila_rendered

And refit it to the bin. Fit the bin to the cyclone and THANK GOODNESS THATS OVER! The airflow will return once we make the sucky machine work... So. Seal onto the cyclone lock arm

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

And the spring

ila_rendered

Clip it back onto the pivots but leave the tabs out for now

Motor time now. Plug it in and sit it in the housing squarely, then fit the rubber bushings

ila_rendered

The sound baffling on these is built into the motor housing, and they clip on/off easily.

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

The post filter came up clean enough with an airline thank goodness

ila_rendered

This bit is fun, you need to wire the motor back in but you can't fit it yet until the top shell is on. If you sit the motor correctly with the 3 rubber bushes located it sits squarely and evenly on the floor

ila_rendered

Push the top housing on, noting to run the flex through first, then be VERY careful as the pedals pass through, the cord rewind pedal spring gets knocked off I find. If the pedals don't work, the top shell is not on properly, and once it's square you need to lever the locking tabs UP now until it latches back on!

ila_rendered

Next, refit the exhaust diffuser

ila_rendered

Then fit and screw on the bottom motor cover and finally you can stop holding something

ila_rendered

Wheels on

Up to the front triangle now, screw the 2 halves of the shell together

ila_rendered

Then fit the front wheels, angling them until the tabs pass then fitting the locating bar and screwing it together

ila_rendered

Fit the pivoting end and circlip

ila_rendered

Worked out it's easier to assemble this fully

ila_rendered

And just drop the whole thing on

ila_rendered

To fit to the machine, drop the top half of the main pivot on then pull the bottom on like so

ila_rendered

Then do up all the screws

ila_rendered

Then fit the cyclone unit

ila_rendered

To the machine!

Whilst this was going on, or near enough to be date slotted into my images for this thread, the tangle free turbine tool got found and passed on. I'd never had one of these before, so more for curiosity...

ila_rendered

The baseplate unscrews

ila_rendered

As do the brushes

ila_rendered

The rubber brushes themselves sit in a centre holder

ila_rendered

Which just push out

ila_rendered

This reveals some screws

ila_rendered

The top shell lifts off

ila_rendered

Revealing a wonderfully gritty pivot point

ila_rendered

There are some screws at the top side next

ila_rendered

The cogs push out of the bearing via a circlip removal

ila_rendered

The other side is held on a mini chassis

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

This is the turbine part

ila_rendered

Air intake filter

ila_rendered

Unclips easily

ila_rendered

This was also all washed and polished. Did you notice something missing from the previous exploded parts picture? That's right, all the tools! yey...

ila_rendered

And we may as well start with the tangle free turbine tool

The turbine housing and main drive cog are reassembled and refitted

ila_rendered

the main turning cogs pushed and clipped back in

ila_rendered

I used the brush holder centres to help pull the cogs into the bearing from above

ila_rendered

Has to be even

ila_rendered

But eventually you can screw the midframe together

ila_rendered

Then fit the brushes

ila_rendered

And screw them down

ila_rendered

Fit the baseplate and the tangle tool is done!

ila_rendered

Re-assemble the wand if you bothered

Small tools got washed and popped back onto the holder

ila_rendered

Long crevice tool apart

ila_rendered

And together

ila_rendered

And onto the floor head. Fit the wheel axles to the top frame now whilst it's apart

ila_rendered

And clip it together

ila_rendered

Fit the hose

ila_rendered

Then fit the other end of the hose and screw it together

The other end of the hose will need some help

ila_rendered

Next fit the wheels onto the shafts. A screwdriver behind the shaft helps here

ila_rendered

The wheels move alot better now!

ila_rendered

Turbine now, fit the top cap onto the moving bit, after a few drops of oil got dropped here and there

ila_rendered

Fit the clear bracket to the turbine-air inlet seal

ila_rendered

Fit said seal to the turbine housing

ila_rendered

Screw the turbine housing together

ila_rendered

Fit the belt over the cogs then slip the cog into the housing and refit the 2 screws

ila_rendered

Check it all rotates freely and refit the brushroll cog now as it's way easier than with the housing fitted

Clip the turbine air intake filter on

ila_rendered

Fit the belt pullet cover back on

ila_rendered

And it's ready for

ila_rendered

The brushroll housing itself

ila_rendered

To refit the wheels on this generation, assemble as so

ila_rendered

And push into place. Refit the rear baseplate too being sure the clip is fully seated in the middle, or it'll protrude and scrape/bind on carpeting

ila_rendered

Screw the front on

ila_rendered

Re-assemble the brushroll. Mvacs kindly sent me some spare red brushes as an experiment so some tweaking did happen, if your black brushes are worn right down then a set of red ones perks it right up!

What a great read for half ten at night! Bloody hell, I've never seen a cinetic in person and I'm not desperate to get one not going to lie! Especially the upright as just the chassis and motor are a pain in the  :censored: so the only reason you'd see me with one is if I've had a joblot!

Thanks! Don't blame you, it was really good when refurbished, but makes a loud howling noise from the airflow, and I hate the tools this whole era of dyson came with anyway... People seem to think their worth lots of money too... See them on fb for £150 looking well used, poor things!

Yeah I've seen these on the market place for way over what their worth, I also see brand new v10s for £470, surely that's overpriced considering their warrantys ran out months or even years ago! I also see 'refurbished' v10s and 11s but with no dock, charger or wand or cleaner head or even and attachments and they're up for like £250!
