I've had a dc41 mk1 (1300 watt pre Eu) and it's been in the cupboard with one of my dc41 mk2s and I haven't repaired it because I wouldnt make any profit at all as it needs a new bin clip, new post filter, new yoke assembly and a new brushroll motor. But it's main motor is completely fine
The reason the brushroll motor needs replacing it that it's seized and only turns either way about 2cm and I stripped it apart again yesterday (I was free as I finished a dc08 and I started a v6 earlier but back to the dc41) and I took out its little carbon brushes, and when they were out it span fine both ways freely, but now it's all back together it spins kind of freely one way but only 2cm the other way, I think this is really strange and I have 2 branded new ERP heads but I haven't fitted it to the mk1 because it will send different signals to the PCB (I was told this by dysonrepairsbolton) and it won't know when to cut out which could lead to more damage, I don't know if I should swap the motors? But then I'll have a brand new cleaner head with no motor! So I think I should keep it for spares (which was it's original plan) I'm pretty certain that it's the same brushroll motor as the dc25, did they ever seize?
