I am looking for a Dyson V6 SV05 Main Motor Body Assembly Rear Motor Cover in good condition with no cracks or damages at all and reasonably priced, anything out there?
DC04 and DC07's for me and the occasional DC14.

Unfortunately I do not have one, are you a Dyson repairer or an average user? Because I saw a video by 'FIND IT FIX IT RESTORE IT' on YouTube about how to remove the back cover to get to the "second filter" even thought the "second filter" he's talking about is just sound deadening which the average user should not attempt to remove the back panel as there is a very high chance that the cover will snap in half.

If you have a broken one, would glueing it together work?

I am just an average user and refurbish a few machines now and again, this particular machine is my mother in laws. I am about to replace the battery and noticed that the rear motor cover was badly cracked and before I went any further with it decided to look for a replacement before the other one fell apart. Glueing it would not be an option nor would purchasing one already cracked or damaged.

Is that bad? It might be ok if its just a crack, but if it's leaking suction then it's definitely in need of replacement. I couldn't seem to find one, the only thing to do if it is leaking suction is replace the entire motor unit and that's not going to be cheap as I think I saw an ad for one on espares and I think it was about £56.00

ila_renderedila_renderedIt's definitely more than a crack as it parted when I split it tonight, I couldn't get a decent picture of it however I have borrowed a picture to let you see the part that is required. This is as far as I would be stripping the machine so would not be going into it as far as the sound deadening part.
Anyone recommend a good battery? don't want to be buying 5 or anything like that just the one.

Ah! A hepa filter v6, now this changes things a little as think that the hepa filter models are more prone to breaking their back panels, now I think I did see some of these. Ah ha! Found some this is the cheapest one I saw https://www.ebay.com/itm/384070403331?_ul=GB
I didn't bother sending the white panel as it would look a bit off

Thanks for the link however I may just hold out to see if I can get something in the UK as I would like to get the machine back to the mother in law as quick as I can. The time it takes to come from China is the issue, I might have to bite the bullet and buy a whole assembly just to get the part I need.

Perfect I will await your reply and will give you a shout regarding the battery and I also need a wand clip (pictured) and a second hand one is ok for me, might as well get everything from the same place

We haven't got one of that type of rear cover. Would a standard one without the filter fit? If so, we have those.

I only have this machine at the moment and have nothing to compare it with so don't know if another type of rear cover would fit however someone in the know could possibly enlighten us? Do you have any of the wand clips I mentioned earlier?

We are pretty confident they'll interchange.

Yes to the wand clip. I'll shoot you a PM.

I always remove the hepa filter rear covers and replace them with standard V6 ones. The Hepa models are awfully prone to damage. I presume the restriction in airflow especially as the filter gets blocked is enough to considerably stress the plastic
