Having the same problem with a DC25 I just picked up. I get 224V through the bottom connectors to the brush head, but motor only runs for around 1 second, I see a small spark inside brush motor.
If someone has an idea... not sure if I need to replace entire head, or if it may be a motor problem and i can just buy a new motor.
Thanks.

Yes, that sounds like a brushroll motor.

I had precisely the same symptoms as the original poster (Tony150) with my DC25.

I eventually tracked the cause down: not the yoke loom, nor the brushroll reset switch but the brushroll's main power switch.
