DC40 Brush Motor
« on: October 29, 2021, 02:32:02 PM »
I have a problem with the brush not turning This is a physical problem. The brush will turn for a bit and then locks in one position. It is possible to force it past that point but it will stick in the same position when it comes round.
So I stripped it down but could not find anything obstructing the rotation.
So removed the motor and that is where the problem lies, turning the shaft it sticks in the same place as I rotate the shaft. Looking inside at the commutator it looks like one of the segments is missing.

So I assuming I need a new motor. I have a red slider on the front of the brush housing.
Therefore I need one of these.
DC25/41 Brushroll Motor Johnson DC771(2)XLLG.7
Can you confirm please??
