I have a Dyson DC04 constant max (no clutch) (steel and orange colour)
need a new motor and not sure which will fit mine is a YDK YV-511-2  but most seem to be YDK YV 2200 are they interchangeable

Sorry lost my original post so...

I have a Dyson DC04 constant max (no clutch steel and orange colour)
need a new motor and not sure which will fit mine is a YDK YV-511-2
been looking at the YDK YV 2200 clutch type motors and they are the same size as mine but slightly different fan and rubber housing has anyone fitted one of these successfully
Thanks for any help

I've merged your two topics.

You want >>This<< if has an Ametek fitted as per original. If it already has a YDK YV motor in, you want >>This<<.

Thanks for that
The problem was searching online most websites said

DC04 with clutch/brush control models only
or
DC04 all clutched models>>>( NOT DC04 Silver/Lime, DC04 Independent (Silver/Blue), DC04 Constant Max (Silver/Lime) & (Steel/Orange), DC04 Zorbster (Silver/Purple)

added to the fact that my Fan housing and rubber ring was quite different to any of them that showed a photo of it
and they were all YV2200 models not the YV511-2 on my motor
And your even your website only mentions the Silver/Lime model,so very difficult to know what the truth was.

P.S would this DC04 Constant Max originally had an Ametek motor? As I dont know its history, I was given it for free not working

The orange one has a Ametek originally *I think*, so its probably already been converted.

When I last had a Constant Max apart (which was probably 6/7 years ago) I seem to recall it had the same motor you initially pictured, so it could well be right? It should have originally been 1000w too

Yes the ID sticker says 1000w so it was probably an Ametek to begin with from what I have now read on the forum which is why I was getting so confused about which Motor I needed to buy,
and I also looked at my DC04 brush control model is 1200w on the model stickers
thanks for all your help, i did get it the end  :)
