Dyson ball animal 2 motor upgrade
« on: December 11, 2021, 06:01:01 pm »
Hi
Just wandering if anyone could help me. I’ve got a ball animal 2 as a daily driver it’s a good machine but I think the hose suction just dosent cut it. I was just hoping if anyone in the forum would know wether a mk1 dc40/41 1200watt motor would fit as I know you can retrofit them into the dc40/41 erp machines and it seems to improve suction. Would really appreciate any knowledge on this as I think the tiny motor in the new ball animal 2 and light ball are a bit wimpy really even the dc40 erp motors seem to have significantly more suction than the new tiny ydk motors.
Thank in advance

It's not something we've ever done. It would depend if there was space in the motor casing, and I suspect there wouldn't be.

If you publish the dimensions of the motor, that might tell us if a DC25 or something would fit.

The motor in the UP22/24 is extremely tiny however produces a surprising amount of suction. However you are not the first person who has commented that it lacks power though. Personally I think they’re pretty damn good and I sell them daily. I have never noticed a lack of power with these machines
