Dyson dc23 or dc33c (dc39)
« on: October 27, 2021, 10:15:54 am »
Hi new member here from South Africa

Currently have the dc23 animal and dc33c allergy parquet - which I found to be the same as the dc39 thanks to the wiki
Ive just cleaned the turbine head on the dc23 which wasnt spinning but seems to work fine now.

Which one should I keep? I offered one for sale on a local group to someone that was looking for one for about £25. In retrospect I should have asked more, but need to get rid of one and not sure which is the better machine ie still be repairable if something does go wrong.

Any help appreciated.

The DC23 is more robust and easier to fix, but turbine heads are expensive and not plentiful now if that bit goes.

The DC33c's are OK, lots of them about. Expensive to fix when the motor goes though.

Not sure if you're anywhere near Cape Town, but if so this chap is in Bothasig and is an excellent repairer and parts supplier.

Thanks for the reply. I'm quite a distance from Cape Town (my hometown actually) but thanks for the contact. In the end decided to keep the dc23 as it just felt a bit more powerful.
