I'll have a look today for you.
All I have is a main turbine head like this: (Attachment Link) or a mini turbine head like this: (Attachment Link) Both from a lavender one. They will want the brush rolls cleaning but both work fine. Probably £30 and £15 respectively would cover them inc delivery (new is £55 and £40 respectively). If you wanted one or both, you can use the top button on >> this page<<. They hold their money because they are so hard - almost impossible - to get used in good condition.
Forty quid? You want closer to £100 for a nice looking DC08 that is complete really. A new head is £55 (even posting one is almost a fiver). So if a used one is worth half, a motor is worth a tenner, a cable rewind a tenner, a hose a fiver, a telescopic wand £20, there is £70 already in parts. A few hours to mint it up............ then a little profit. A complete recon one has to be a hundred at least. You would make more breaking it for spares. That's what we do with most cylinders. I wish I could buy them at a fiver.
In your position with one of those, if the parts are mint, I would strip it and clean everything and eBay it on a "buy it now" on month long listings in pieces. Yes, its a pain pecking out listings and photos etc, but if you save every one you do, and the photos, you can use them over and over again when you buy similar machines. The fees are 17% in total, but you get postage on top. List them with part numbers in the title and list RRP @ Dyson with a link. For example, the telescopic wand 910415-05 costs £36.23. So its worth an easy £15 + £6 postage. £21. Postage will cost you £4.41 Small Parcel Rate (forget 1st class). 10% eBay fee on the £15 + 40p to list it. 3.4% + 20p Paypal fee on the £21.Lets do the sums: £21 gross received - minus £4.41 postage; minus 90p Paypal fee; minus £1.90 eBay fee = £13.79. You would be showing an eight quid profit on the machine before you sold the cable rewind, the motor, the hose, the cyclone and any other bits.
I am fortunate that my MIL lives 3000 miles away. No Xmas visiting for me.
