How to fit a DC41 cyclone release catch?

Hello, we have a Dyson DC 41 vacuum. We have broken the red release button. We have the new one, and are looking to replace it. We can’t figure out how to remove the old release button. I saw something about the DC 40 having the same procedure, but as a new user I can’t seem to find that post! Any help would be appreciated. By the way, I found you by using an Internet search. That’s what you want if you only need to replace the top section. If you need to replace both, you need to strip the cyclone down to fit the lower one, in that case look at the DC40/41 strip down topics in the sticky topics in this room.
