Dyson DC24 circuit board connections

When I disconnected the brush bar motor 2 wire connector (black wire and white wire) from the circuit board the 2 parts of the connector disconnected from the board. I now have 2 pins sticking up from the board and am not sure which way round the connector goes back. Does the white wire go towards the brush bar or towards the main body of the machine? Will it cause any damage if it is connected the wrong way round? Hope someone can help.
