Replacing Dyson battery PCBs
« on: June 10, 2022, 12:33:05 pm »
So just replaced a battery for a customer that had flashing red LEDS and all now working, happy customer.

Thought I'd strip the old battery and have a look and all the battery cells test ok and are outputting voltage so appears its the controller PCB that has failed.

Just come across a Chinese site that sells these PCB's relatively cheap and wondered if anyone else had ever tried it as figured its worth a punt.

It usually is the PCB that fails rather than the cells.

We never managed to get into them easily, not in such a way that you could repair them without the casing being damaged.

I've managed to get in without too much damaged, ive got a battery with bad cells and a couple with boards, i'll see if any of them match up then and maybe do a walkthrough with pics

I’m keen to know how you get on with this . I tried a Chinese pcb in a Dyson battery pack a few years back wasn’t successful so abandoned trying again .
But I have stripped many a Dyson battery for the 18650 cells inside and have in most cases found at least 1 cell that have failed.
