Hi there
I have a very old, but faithful DC05 which I having lovingly looked after and cleaned regularly. The turbo head has recently stopped spinning. I have taken the head apart and cleaned it all out. I admit it needed it

Thinking that would be the end of it, I reattached but alas no spinning. The suction is fine, but the brushes just don't turn. Can anyone help? Maybe it's time for a new one....??!!

Repairing them is not an amateur job, and it is so time consuming to repair them that we usually don't bother. They only have a finite lifespan, which is usually shorter then the machine itself. We *might* have a used one if you can tell me what colour/variant you have?

Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. I do think that there are a few things wearing out inside which could be causing the problem, I have had it for over 10 years! So a replacement I think is the way ahead.

They are getting on a bit now the DC05's. We still do a lot of motor swaps and service work on them though. They are never beyond hope.

Don't worry I will only replace the head, not the whole thing!

Love my DC05 tooooo much.

By the way, what would you say in your opinion is a good direct replacement. I have tried some which are sooo heavy. I do like a cylinder vacuum.
