Hi i have a dc07,the problem is when i use it ,..the soleplate is sucked to the floor so much it is hard work to push and pull,if i vacuum lino it lifts it up.....puzelled, as it used to be fine,i have taken ik apart but cant see what might be the problem,...any ideas please

Is it clutched or non-clutched?

Look at the angle the tilting cleaner head is contacting the floor, it may be a little tilted. Turning the bottom hose a bit usually cures that. Failing which, take off the sole plate, and remove the rubber seal.

I bet there is nobody on a forum anywhere saying their Hoover or Vax sucks so well it sticks to the floor and cannot be pushed.

thanks for that info,....yes you would think i would be glad havving a vac with so much suction...some people are never happy...lol

To be honest, its a pretty popular thing we encounter with machines we recondition. Usually non-clutched ones.

We haven't managed to nail it down to any one thing, but as daft as it sounds, we just have to tweak it to reduce the suction. Removing the sole plate seal is the usual way. It just allows that bit more air to pass by and reduces the suction just a little. Other than that, we fit a more worn brush roll; again just to try and reduce the efficiency of the machine.

Hi again,had a play about with the Dyson,... seal on soleplate had already been removed so turned the bottom hose bit by bit but little or no improvment,I think ill just use this one for spares now,may i just say thanks for all your advice..........
