DC33 problem.
« on: October 03, 2023, 05:49:01 am »
I've just refurbished a DC33 and for some reason, the switch cover has a tight fitting, resulting in the cyclone not sitting properly whilst on the machine. It's wired all properly. I just can't seem to find what's the issue with it. Most DC33's I've worked on have been fine. Machine was bought used.

Could be a wire routed wrong in the switch housing, that would cause it. Or have you changed the grommet? If so, the DC07 one looks similar but differs.

Either way, strip and investigate is the only way.

The wire and grommet is from the DC33. It's wired properly. Even when taking off the wiring, the switch cover seems really stiff.

I've got another DC33 that I refurbed. All rewired properly and no issues at all. I wonder why the other DC33 is being a a pain, even though I've stripped it down and rewired it properly.

On mine it goes tight if you route the wiring anticlockwise. Try checking the wiring route. If is not that maybe just extend the wiring?
