Aussie Dyson DC04
« on: July 20, 2023, 11:35:00 am »
G'day from Australia! I have an original Dyson DC04 that I won custody of in my divorce that my ex wife abused and never serviced or cleaned in years then complained it never worked - the DC04 is dirty like the ex wife, but not in a good way. I guess this is what you get when a Lancashire bloke gets married to a lazy arsed Yorkshire lass!

Unlike the ex wife there is still a chance of this machine getting back to its former beauty after some tender love and care so I'm looking to do a full refurbish - what do you recommend?

You know how to write a juicy introduction for sure ..
There are plenty of cleaning video’s on YouTube available.
They learnt me the odd thing too…
Or check here on this page for Beko’s brilliant video’s !
It all started with a new DC08 in 2003.
Since 2 years I added DC01's DC02's DC04?s DC05?s  DC07 DC08's DC14 DC15 DC18, DC22, DC 23, DC26 and a DC33.

She just needs a good stripdown, wash and re-assembly. If only women were so easy...

Budget for new belts on the clutch/buy a refurbished clutch, and a set of filters and an internal hose and the rest is graft! Their just like simple meccano sets when you get into them! (removing the switch cover on an 04 can be a bastard though... if you only partly snap the little locking tab it qbonds back nicely. Do not refit that or the clutch cover until youve 100% tested it 👍
