Dyson CR01 Washing Machine issue
« on: December 02, 2011, 04:30:12 pm »
Just started, coin trap is clear.

During main wash it only puts a small amount of water into the machine, and we have to tip in about a gallon via the tray to get water into the drum to wash things.

You can see water in the coin trap and it has the washing liquid on it.

Why is the WM stopping so soon rather than filing up?

All the rinses are OK

Thanks

Martin

They are designed so that the water level doesn't go above the glass on wash mode. It enables you to stop the machine add extra items as an afterthought and of course, to save water.

Is this a new issue that has developed? Or has it always done it?

It is a new issue, but it is now working again.

We knew it was below glass but it was putting as low as 1l of water in

What did you do to fix it? We are woefully short on Dyson washing machine info.

That's just a heating element warning and the cause of most of your other problems too. The part isn't too pricey £18 or so. But you will have to take the whole front case off the machine to get to it.

ie Outer door unclip, hinge unscrew, top cover unscrew and slide off, unscrew top 3 screws and 2 screws holding display on, disconnect cables and pipe and remove. Remove powder tray and slide whole front upwards and off. Disconnect cables, remove white cover ,just below tub door, note wire order and remove wires from element, unscrew bolt in middle and pull out element. Reverse procedure with new element. Can be done in 30 mins once you get used to it :-)
